ffmpeg-0.10 'pp_mode_t' and 'pp_context_t' errors

Hi, While rebuilding some packages against newer ffmpeg-0.10, here are a common error: src/ffmpeg2theora.c:525:5: error: unknown type name 'pp_mode_t' src/ffmpeg2theora.c:526:5: error: unknown type name 'pp_context_t' I will kill the related F-17 build if the F-18 build has failed with this: Here is an exemple how to fix: Please have a look on your upstream master branch if there is not already a patch for newer ffmpeg before looking into that: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~ken/desktop-builds/patches-and-sources-2... Updating mplayer: how about using bundled ffmpeg?

Hi, I was trying to update mplayer and most of the problems I am having are due to using shared ffmpeg, which is discouraged and unsupported by upstream. The latest error is: libmpdemux/mp_taglists.c:27:34: fatal error: libavformat/internal.h: No such file or directory when trying to build 20120204 snapshot. Looking at the svn log, this was added in revision 34243 (from 20111023). This all seems to indicate that trying to use system ffmpeg is an uphill battle which will always going to keep our mplayer behind, as well as piss upstream off when we come asking for help. The alternative would be to switch to mplayer2. What are your opinions? Regards, Julian

Problems building mplayer [WAS: Greetings Mplayer Maintainers!]

Ok, ran into my first problem: cfg-common.h:530:5: error: initializer element is not constant cfg-common.h:530:5: error: (near initialization for 'common_opts[114].p') The line in cfg-common.h is using pp_help which is provided by the ffmpeg header: /usr/include/ffmpeg/libpostproc/postprocess.h Which contains: #if LIBPOSTPROC_VERSION_INT < (52<<16) typedef pp_context pp_context_t; typedef pp_mode pp_mode_t; extern const char *const pp_help; ///< a simple help text #else extern const char pp_help[]; ///< a simple help text #endif I'm not sure how (52<<16) is evaluated but the version major is defined as 51 so I'm assuming the first part of the if clause is used instead of the else portion. /usr/include/ffmpeg is in the header search path so I don't think it's a problem of not finding it.
