No, please do it as a subpackage of the gnome-mplayer package. You'll have to
build it twice, but that's easily doable. The upside of this solution is less
maintenance overhead and instant propagation of fixes. If you need hints on how
to do this, look at my ffmpeg package or ask me on IRC.
