Hi Julian,

I grabbed the set of mplayer rpms x86_64 and tried mplayer out with a 
random selection of mp3, mp4, wma, wmf, asf, avi, mpg (dvb-t), dvd

Results: all played as expected, video and audio.

Also, dvbcut is able to "embed" mplayer and this continues to be able to 
playback dvb-t mpg TV OK, without a rebuild of dvbcut.
