HandBrake with SVT-AV1-PSY patches
The reason this cannot be shipped in fedora is the same as the base package
I have not gotten to build yet due to copr not allowing me to add rpmfusion
repos.
this is my first RPM Fusion package.
*NOTE* the svt-av1-psy-devel dependency can be procured here:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/solomoncyj/SVT-AV1-PSY/build/8154...
If you want to merge the patches to the Main HandBrake package, feel free to do
so

RE: why some packages are missing on F41 ?
by Nick
Hello I think, I am that user :)
TL; DR The reason of failure is the upgrade of ffmpeg to version 7.0. I
have created the fix for this issue on my qTox fork:
https://github.com/nickolay168/qTox/commit/d70e9a8d5daeae0f168a8d8640bb6e....
The main fix is in src/video/cameradevice.cpp file, where I am changing
the way how the list of devices is taken.
My fork also contains some stability fixes.
Longer explanation:
The official qTox version (https://github.com/qTox/qTox) used to take
the list of devices by manually creating the AVFormatContext, which in
turn involved copying the structure of AVInputFormat's AVClass that
required allocation of private data for the specific AVClass, contained
in the iformat variable. The manual allocation required the size of this
class, however, the priv_data_size field of AVInputFormat was long
deprecated and finally removed in ffmpeg v. 7
Here is the commit in ffmpeg repository, which has broken qTox:
https://git.ffmpeg.org/gitweb/ffmpeg.git/commitdiff/b800327f4c7233d09baca...
and, specifically, the patch file to avformat.h, which used to define
priv_data_size:
https://git.ffmpeg.org/gitweb/ffmpeg.git/commitdiff/b800327f4c7233d09baca....
I am happy to help in deploying a new version of qTox; I can create a
release of my fork. In future I am planning to work on improving this
messenger.

any reason for that ?
One user ask me about qTox package and I don't know what to reply ...

Hi,
I don't get why telegram-desktop is failing on the "power" builder
now. It was previously failing on a 6Go RAM builder, but now fails on
a 16Go RAM one.
In both cases, the failure occurs at link time so we have passed the
OOM at build time (the %_smp_mflags is still set at -j2 there). But
link time demands for twice the amount of memory ?
So I wonder if that's a fedora change or telegram one. I might try to
reproduce the previous successful build as a new scratch build to see
if it's still pass to try to sort that out...
Alternative is probably to disable lto on aarch64, unless a better idea...

RPMFusion for EL 10 schedule?
by Gary Buhrmaster
What is the current thinking on a schedule for
RPMFusion to create the initial infrastructure
for the EL 10 distribution? Fedora has opened
EPEL10 koji targets, and there has been some
activity getting packages built in EPEL10.
From my observation here are still a lot of
packages that need to be built for EPEL10 to
make it a viable base for some packages in
RPMFusion (I have opened Bugzillas for
some packages I will be needing) but it
might be nice for the RPMFusion packagers
to be able to test, request additional EPEL10
branches and builds, and build their
RPMFusion packages before C10S is
expected to be available (2024Q4?).
Thanks for any insight you can offer.
Gary
