hmmm ... what if the rpm included the unmodified files and the script
to
install from them which would have to be run manually outside of rpm,
And could
even have a gui icon eg system config | install micrsoft core fonts..
to make it easy to a) know they exist and b) easy to use c) could describe what
it is about to do, where the files are going to come from, and where they are
going to be installed to. And show an uninstall button as well.
Could an rpm post script that removes all the non-rpm installed files be
included / called from above gui ?
plus the placeholders for all the files installed by the script?
What will [rpm -V the-font-package] say ?
Surely it will tell you that someone has changed a whole bunch of installed
files. That wouldn't be ideal.
