I just wanted to chime in here; I asked our lawyers to write up something more
official sounding for you, but they are pretty busy so it might take a while
:-(

If my less official sounding permission suffices, then here you have it: I'm
completely okay with you repacking our tar.gz into an rpm for your distro, and
thank you for making the effort to do so.
