Yes, it works.
The xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-beta-devel package does that already:
$ rpm -qpR xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-beta-devel-177.61.02-2.fc10.i386.rpm|grep libs
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-beta-libs-i386 = 177.61.02-2.fc10
