FWIW, I've been using ffmpeg-3.2.4 on Fedora 25 for the last two months
without any issues and without rebuilding any other packages.
I have ~10 other packages depending on ffmpeg and they all seem to work
fine.

Go directly to the point , I vote in update x264 and ffmpeg-3.2 in F25
*with* mass rebuild ... we already have some package broke in F25 and
we already waste lots of time because ffmpeg-3.2 in not in F25 . ticket
#4376, suggests not do it because may broke things , but they are
already broke .

I would support newer ffmpeg on F25 *IF* it can be done without breaking
things. At a minimum all affected packages should be rebuilt offline to
ensure all packages build. Of course that wouldn't address any possible
issues with functionality but that's a lot more work to check.

I already patched xpra-codecs-freeworld for building against ffmpeg-3.1
anyway.
I agree with Richard: all affected packages should be rebuilt offline
before to ensure all packages build at a minimum.
I have successfully rebuilt 'moc', 'xpra-codecs-freeworld' and
'lives'
on f25 against ffmpeg-3.2

We're 1 month away from F26. FFMpeg 3.1 is still receiving updates. One of the two
apps with issues has already been patched to work with 3.1.

ffmpeg-3.2 was already built in F26 and all packages have been built ,
what package is broken ? ffmpeg-3.2 is in F26 sometime ago . Argue all
again is not good, but can't you see that we already had more work
(globally) by not update it .
