libfaad ???
by Alice Wonder
Hello list,
Many moons ago I use to use ffmpeg linked against libfaad to create .mp4
files using h.264 and aac.
It has been years, but now I need to do it again. It seems though that
the ffmpeg in rpmfusion is not linked against libfaad nor is libfaad
even in the repos.
Has the AAC encoder that ffmpeg uses changed or is aac just not
currently supported by the build in rpmfusion?

Fedora 16 EOL
by Gabe Rubin
Apologies if this has been covered (I am a new subscriber to the list). I
converted from ATRPMs a little while ago. Is there no more support for
Fedora 16 and if not, is my best avenue to upgrade to Fedora 18 by first
doing a DVD upgrade to Fedora 17 and then a FedUp Upgrade to 18? Are there
any gotchas I should be aware of during the upgrades?

I had to fall back two kernel releases to get a functioning MythTV system the most recent
kernel for FC17 failed to build my NVIDIA module.
file: 304.64-6-for-3.8.3-103.fc17.i686.failed.log
is it useful to post the above log? or is it a known issue?
But here are some lines which may be useful.. not sure..

Could not open RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora-18-i386 (update fedora 17 -> 18)
by Andrew Sturgess
I am trying to do a yum update from Fedora 17 to Fedora 18 and am getting this when I do 'sudo yum --releasever=18 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync':
GPG key retrieval failed: [Errno 14] Could not open/read file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-rpmfusion-free-fedora-18-i386
I saw on some lists that things have changed and I should be using the "branched" rpmfusion repositories now... like so:
sudo yum localinstall --nogpgcheck http://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/rpmfusion-free-release-branche... http://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/fedora/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-b...
But when I try that, I get:
=================================
--> Running transaction check
---> Package rpmfusion-free-release.noarch 0:19-0.3 will be installed
--> Processing Dependency: system-release >= 19 for package: rpmfusion-free-release-19-0.3.noarch

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
===========================
I could try to disable the rpmfusion repos during the f17->f18 update (then manually update the rpmfusion packages afterwards), but this has worked fine in the past (f14->f15, f15->f16, f16->f17) to have the big yum update included the extra packages in rpmfusion from one major fedora release to the next.
[I could also add --nogpgcheck, but I prefer not to use that unsafe option]
I suppose I could also manually delete the current rpmfusion repo definition packages (rpmfusion-free-release-17.0.4-1.noarch and rpmfusion-nonfree-release-17.0.4-1.noarch) and force install the f18 rpmfusion ones (download and manually install using 'rpm -i'). But what's the right path now for including rpmfusion packages with the base fedora packages when doing a yum update from one major fedora version to the next?

NVidia-Drivers / libcuda.so?
by Satz Klauer
Hi,
I want to use the NVidia drivers together with libcuda.so to use my
graphics card for calculations (for SETI@Home to be more exact).
After I installed the related graphics-driver-packages from RPMFusion
I found some programs like nvidia-cuda-proxy or
nvidia-cuda-server-control but no libcuda.so. Amazingly these
NVidia-CUDA-daemons are not started.
Google told me libcuda was part of the NVidia xorg-drv-package at
least for earlier versions than Fedora 18. So what happened to it? Is
there a reason why it is no longer part of that package?
Thanks!

Missing dependency for freecad Fedora 17
by Peter Reed
Hello,
Trying to install freecad and apparently I am missing python-collada.
Error as follows:
Error: Package: freecad-0.13-1.fc17.x86_64(rpmfusion-nonfree-updates)
Requires: python-collada
Tried yum search and whatprovides but no package availible. Should I
file a bug report or is something missing on my end.
Thanks to all.
Peter
