Fedora 17 EOL
by Emmanuel Seyman
Hello, all.
AS you've probably heard, Fedora 17 went EOL today. No new updates will be
released for it and users are encouraged to migrate to F18+.
Accordingly, I've added a comment to all F17 bugs in RPMFusion's bugzilla
that they will be closed with the EXPIRED resolution next week unless
someone moves them to a supported version of Fedora.

libopencl.so in akmod-nvidia?
by Michael Clerx
Dear all,
I'm using the "akmod-nvidia" package to get CUDA / OpenCL drivers for my
Nvidia GPU. However, I'm unable to find the opencl shared object files.
Are they packaged with akmod-nvidia or do I need to install them from
some other source?
Thanks,
Michael

GLX problem with nvidia 304.88
by John Pilkington
Hi: I've been using 304.88 under 3.8.13-100.fc17.x86_64 without
problems. Today I installed 3.9.8-100 and its kmod, and the glx module
from Xorg is being loaded. Attempts to run Mythfrontend or Mythtvsetup
go straight back to the login screen.
My xorg.conf has
Section "Files"
# ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/nvidia/xorg"
# ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/default/Type1"
EndSection
(where the lines commented out were originally installed by 304.64,
which then had the same problem)
and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-nvidia.conf has
Section "Files"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/nvidia-304xx/xorg"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules"
EndSection
Both of these look as if the nvidia modules should get preference.
Reverting to the earlier kernel doesn't revert to a good working system;
I have the same problem there now.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
John P

kmod-openafs for kernel 3.9.6
by Suvayu Ali
Hi,
I was wondering if there are any problems with kmod-openafs for the
latest stable kernel available in the official Fedora repositories. I
think I have been holding out on the kernel update for about a week
waiting for the kmod package to show up. Any update on the status
would be great.
Thanks and cheers,
