nVidia driver not loading
by Robin Laing
Hello,
A new machine and I have installed the rpmfusion nVidia akmods but xorg
is trying to load module "nv", not "nvidia" according the Xorg.0.log.
Where could the system be trying to load the nv driver instead of the
nvidia driver?
nvidia-xorg.conf exists
99-nvidia.conf exists and points to the correct module directories.
This may be the issue.
modprobe: modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'nvidia': Required key not
available
How do I add a key to nvidia to load the module?
I need secure boot configured on this machine for Windows 10 and gaming
as it is not my computer and will be configured as dual boot.

No akmod-nvidia-340xx for F24?
by Ed Greshko
I just noticed that my recently upgraded, and older, laptop still has
akmod-nvidia-340xx-340.96-1.fc23.x86_64.rpm installed. Looked in the rpmfusion repos and
didn't find an F24 equivalent. But akmod-nvidia-304xx-304.131-2.fc24.x86_64.rpm
and akmod-nvidia-358.16-2.fc24.x86_64.rpm are available. Did this get overlooked?

nvidia304 hangs with fc23 kernel
by John Pilkington
Yesterday I ran dnf system upgrade from fc22 to fc23. It all seemed
very smooth (4185 packages) until it rebooted to emergency mode. After
repairs by fsck it runs happily under 4.4.13-200.fc22 but just hangs
with a black screen and a flashing cursor with 4.5.7-200.fc23
yumex-dnf seems inconsistent in reporting the state of the fc23 kernel,
akmod-nvidia-304xx and kmod. Now it is showing them as uninstalled,
with 'Error(s) in search for dependencies' if I try to install the
current 4.5.7-200.fc23
An attempt to install 4.2.3-300.fc23 is apparently seen as a downgrade
of 4.4.12-200.fc22 (not the running kernel) and is then rejected as
conflicting.
I suppose I can continue as is until the next kernel appears - but a fix
would be better :-)
I was able to rpmbuild --rebuild the rpmfusion mythtv-0.28-3.fc24 srpm,
and have it running now. Strangely, an attempt to update my earlier
fc22 build of mythtv master failed with qt5 problems.

Are packages for the most recent version of mythtv (0.28) something that is

Fedora 24
by Dave Pawson
Updated as per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_system_upgrade
I have an nvidia graphics card.
Mid boot after install I got the 'oops, fail' message.
With Fedora 23 I was using a command to update
the driver (I think) from rpmfusion. I made a note...
but can't find it.
Booted back into F23 and working again.
Would someone remind me of the 'update' option
to get my nvidia card working in F24 please?
