OK. I tried this command line on an HD recording from an old BBC
RedButton_HD DVB-T2 and it produced a vlc-playable file. I suppose Google
would have found complaints if kdenlive was failing to transcode, but I
have seen failures earlier because of other changes in ffmpeg syntax. I
stopped the transcoding early. I haven't tried running kdenlive yet. The
input filename here is unrelated to that of the original recording, and I'm
not recommending use of this command line!

I have no problem using ffmpeg from command line, so I wonder if is
inherent to this kdenlive build... I've tested on Huayra (an argentinian
distro derived from Debian 7) using kdenlve and has no this problem...
