Unfortunately, I see it updated the kmodsrc:
xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-kmodsrc.x86_64 1:375.39-2.fc24
This is only the
"blob" kernel side content , it's unmodified for a
given release since if we need to apply patches to the "glue code", it
will be done with akmod-nvidia instead. Not here.
But no akmod rebuild happened. I assume that new source
code really needs to be rebuilt, but akmods doesn't
seem to be aware of that. I tried running
akmods --force
but it just says, Nah! Everything is already built.
You can trust akmods --force,
but more probably that the kmod was
built during the boot.
When it's built on boot, akmod doesn't yet know how to trigger a
module reload, so you need a second boot.
This used to work previously, but at the cost of a terrible hack.
So what on earth do I need to do to really and truly
force it to rebuild things?
More probably a reboot. Or explicitely modprobe
nvidia-drm and see
what's happen, If the module is loaded, then everything was fine.
It's possible that there is another unknown reason. In this case,
please attach the /var/cache/akmods/akmods.log file to a bugzilla.
