On main download site ( http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/en/downloads ) is
version 6690 (source codes). In openSUSE is this version in normal repository
and this version normaly works without problems (is tested).
So yes, this one works with mpv, but I am not sure, why is this in Unstable
folder.

smplayer version for Fedora 21 is latest stable , but I see now that
author update smplayer site ,
http://smplayer.sourceforge.net/en/downloads
but put in unstable folder
