Radeon HD 3000 series (R600 series) is well supported by the open source
"radeon" driver.

my GPRO 4200 is also supported by open-source drivers, with the
exception of one month, where these guys decided to the some
code. As a consequence of this, i kept my ole Kernel for one month.
If have two 2 WQHD Monitors connected to the 140€ card and do
not have to worry about drivers to load or xrand to configure.

Before somebody assume, that i am working for AMD: i was also
lucky with quattro-pro card.
