Is there another fixes release pending?
Didn't we just get 27.3?
But mythtv.org indicates 27.4 is latest

I just built 0.27.4 yesterday so it should go into the testing repositories
on the next package signing run, however, if you're worried about the
schedules direct issue, I patched the last build of 0.27.3 so you should be
OK.

If we are updated to the latest package (0.27.3), does that mean we can
remove the entry in /etc/hosts (the workaround)?

Theoretically yes :) But I would do a manual mythfilldatabase run to make
sure
after you update.
