No. My workflow is, yum update (installing new kernel). No reboot, cd
into SPEC directory, rpmbuild -bb kmod.nvidia.spec, cd into RPMS/x86_64 (or
i686 if that is your arch) and yum localinstall kmod-...., then reboot.

I managed to build the srpm's without much issue (and without changing
anything). I did have issues installing the resulting rpm's but I solved
that by removing the old nvidia software.
My only remaining problem is when new kernels are released in updates. I
have to boot the new kernel to runlevel 3 and rebuild the kmod again. But
Im sure there is a much better way to do that :)
