Hi: I've been using 304.88 under 3.8.13-100.fc17.x86_64 without
problems. Today I installed 3.9.8-100 and its kmod, and the glx module
from Xorg is being loaded. Attempts to run Mythfrontend or Mythtvsetup
go straight back to the login screen.
My xorg.conf has
Section "Files"
# ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/nvidia/xorg"
# ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules"
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/default/Type1"
EndSection
(where the lines commented out were originally installed by 304.64,
which then had the same problem)
and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-nvidia.conf has
Section "Files"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/nvidia-304xx/xorg"
ModulePath "/usr/lib64/xorg/modules"
EndSection
Both of these look as if the nvidia modules should get preference.
Reverting to the earlier kernel doesn't revert to a good working system;
I have the same problem there now.
Suggestions?

Are you asking me for information here? My Xorg.x.log files don't
appear to have been rotated recently, so I have only 0, 0.old from
today; the rest are from April. This appears to be from a boot to the
old kernel after I had problems with the new one. Perhaps it will help.

Pardon me please for being confused. I'm not sure what I need to do to get this
working again. As I understand it, I should _not_ modify my ModulePath as in sasanj's
blog?
