The split makes sense, but it is non-trivial. About half of the open-vm-tools
features are specifically for the desktop (drag'n'drop, toolbox, vmware-user),
while some would be useful on a server (shared filesystem mount, vmxnet,
vmmemctl). I don't mind working on this, but it'll take some time.
