RPM Fusion for EL/EPEL 5

I assume that RPMfusion/EPEL is using the same guidelines for updating
packages as EPEL itself? [1]
If so I'm not sure I'll be able to contribute. In a worst case scenario
my package fails to build because a BR was updated for some reason (eg.
serious security hole) and I'm not able to fix this (no programming
skills here).

Or do I misunderstand the guidelines here?
