PackageKit integration is possible as well, but then that means that we will
have to ship all of the config files by default and submit updates when new
GPUs come out... I'm not sure if it would be the best solution, but
implementing a second tool aimed at helping users install the right proprietary
drivers for their hardware would work around the constant update problem, an
open the door to letting us suggest additional kmods (ie for wireless) for
their system.
