Are we to assume since there is no explicit grant to modify that it can't be
done? The license doesn't address modifications at all.

Correct. I believe some live recordings are still being done in shorten too.

I didn't know that. I guess I wasn't setup with ffmpeg when I first built this
package on Fedora years ago :)
The decoder is all I really care about anyway.
If the consensus is that this package is too much trouble to add, I'll drop the
request.
