Right, zeroc-ice is not a replacement for the freeze in Fedora. You don't need
to retire it.

No one except you will agree freeze have more users than mlt, in fact it's dead
in upstream for more than 10 years and don't include in all linux distributions
except fedora. 
Bugzilla showes low activities on this package.

mlt is offcial supported by debian, ubuntu, gentoo, arch and melt is also
requires by other package(e.g. openshot), thus  rename to melt in freeze to
some other name will be more easier. Also, fedora don't encourage packagers
maintaining packages without any upstream support.
