It seems the subpackage discussion wasn't finished, so let me add my two cents.

What about putting liboperagtk.so in opera-gtk and liboperakde4.so in
opera-kde? Both could require the base opera package. So if I want to try
Opera (Which I indeed do!:-) and want use the Gnome style, I simply install
opera-gtk and get all I need. Wouldn't that work for you?
But if on the other hand you filter out the requirements of the liboperagtk.so
library from the dependencies, how then would I do? What would I install to be
sure everything needed to run Gnome style Opera is available?
It appears I would have to know about the libopera*.so feature, I would have to
manually check what liboperagtk.so requires, and translate it into rpm
requirement syntax. Then I could give this list to yum so it could tell me
what packages I need. And finally I could install those packages. Is this
what I would have to do? If so, it feels like an awful lot of manual work,
that is exactly what I want the package management tools to handle for me.
