I'm not sure to understand why "VirtualBox" does it this computation
over VirtualBox-OSE ?

You need to issue kmod-VirtualBox-OSE or kmod-VirtualBox-OSE-PAE on kernel-PAE.
You might have a corner case when a previous kmod isn't built for an
installed kernel.
