Good point.  If the symlinks aren't actually needed by Kodi, I would +1 just
removing them.

To address your specific issue, I don't see how kodi-pvr will have any problems
as it should install everything into /usr/share/kodi and %{_libdir}/kodi, but
updating xbmc to kodi while not updating xbmc-pvr to kodi-pvr would leave
xbmc-pvr missing a whole bunch of files.  Either way, it's an ugly mess best
dealt with by removing the symlinks if we can.
