XBMC has been the name for 13 years and there are thousands of addons made
specifically for XBMC. Some may have hard-coded paths so as a path of
transition they have left symlinks to "xbmc". I bet the symlinks will be gone
with Kodi 15.0.

Yes, that's what I was going to do.

A new build has been pushed to handle the XBMC->Kodi upgrade. This will make
everything painless.
