Yes, that is the file that I refereed to in my previous message as

/var/cache/akmods/nvidia-something/something.failed.log

(FWIW, my *failed* logs are in /var/cache/akmods/nvidia-304xx since i use the 304xx driver)

The log file I'm talking about is

/var/cache/akmods/akmods.log
