and since my posts above were largely about trying to satisfy the 
dependencies set out in the fc24 spec on an el7 box, I perhaps ought to 
say that before my earlier successful builds (0.28-pre) I had run the 
MythTV ansible playbook, which is supposed to automate that process...
although it perhaps didn't identify the useful repos.
