Yes, the plan is to have akmods i n EL-5 as well. But it's untested as 
of now, so there might be some problems; shouldn't be to hard to get 
those fixed supported, but my focus is a bit more on "get RPM Fusion 
running for Fedora" right now, that's why I haven't worked on it yet.

Definitely: alternative kernels, e.g. self-compiled or pre-compiled from 
3rd party repos.
