I used preupgrade to upgrade to Fedora 17.
to upgrade Fedora 18, you need a F17 full updated and I used
Fedup
Can preupgrade be used via ssh, or is that just a stupid idea?
you could see a remote installation via vnc, and run in a terminal with
preupgrade-cli
