[Bug 6835] New: Sponsorship request for wiki: miika
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla
https://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6835
Bug ID: 6835
Summary: Sponsorship request for wiki: miika
Product: Package Reviews
Version: Current
Hardware: x86_64
OS: GNU/Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P1
Component: Review Request
Assignee: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
Reporter: miika.km.tuominen(a)gmail.com
CC: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
namespace: free
Hello. I'm interested in contributing to the wiki, and it seems I need to get a
sponsor to be able to do that. I did not find any instructions on getting a
sponsorship in order to edit the wiki (without submitting a package to be
reviewed), but I figured creating a ticket here was the most rational way.
I was interested in improving specifically the "Howto/Optimus/NVIDIA PrimaryGPU
Support" section, since currently it has instructions for setting Nvidia as the
primary GPU only on X11, but not wayland (which is the only supported display
server anyway). The reason I consider this important information is because on
laptops, you need to have Nvidia as the primary driver in order to use a second
monitor.
In the spirit of leaving the campground cleaner than I found it, I would also
like to add instructions to the contributing page on how to edit the wiki, as
it took a while for me to find out what I have to do. And I'm still not sure,
since the wiki login claims I don't have correct credentials - maybe it will
work when I join the "wikiedit" group.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Miika

ffms2 moving to Fedora
by Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski
Hi!
It looks like ffms2 can be moved to Fedora now. I opened a review ticket
with the 5.0-RC3 build. Cc'ing Igor, the original maintainer, though I
suspect he might be too busy to keep maintaining it.
Bugzilla ticket for reference:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2274319
I'll post again when it's ready to be retired.
Regards,
Dominik

gpac can be moved to Fedora
by Dominik 'Rathann' Mierzejewski
Hi!
It looks like gpac can be moved to Fedora now. The only optional
dependency enabled by default in the current package is faad2, but AAC
decoding works fine via FFmpeg (ffdec:libfdk_aac or ffdec:aac with
libavcodec-freeworld). In fact, FFmpeg decoder is used by default even
if gpac is built with faad2 support enabled.
I'd like this to happen soon, so if Nicolas doesn't want to or doesn't
have time to submit the review request within the next few days, I'll
happily do it.

Builder hosts CA file
by Michael Cronenworth
Hi all,
I am attempting to build Jellyfin 10.9 for Rawhide, but I am running into an
error[1] with dotnet unable to verify the package signatures of the build modules.
The package signatures can be verified on my local system with mock (Rawhide) but
fail on the RPMFusion Koji build hosts.
I added a grep command[2] to see if the CA exists in the Koji build host, and
surprisingly it does not exist. It does exist on my local copy.
Are the Koji builders CA files being modified?
Thanks,
Michael

Intent to bump SVT-AV1
by Bob Mauchin
Hello,
This week, I will rebuild svt-av1 and its dependencies in a side tag.
Tests were done this weekend on COPR and compatibility with FFmpeg 6.1.1
was determined to be functional.
I will need the help from RPM fusion people.
Libheif and Libheif-freeworld will be updated during the process (minor
release but allow to build with svt-av1). It will also backport a fix for a
small CVE.
Best regards,
Robert-André

Seeking sponsor to package SuperNOVAS C/C++ astrometry library
by attipaci@gmail.com
Hi,
I am the maintainer of SuperNOVAS, a C/C++ astrometry library. It is a fork of the Naval Observatory Vector Astrometry Software (NOVAS) package. It provides bug fixes, many improvements, and online documentation, and is focused on improving usability and promoting best practices, all the while also maintaining 100% API compatibility with the upstream NOVAS C library (version 3.10).
The source code and releases are hosted on GitHub:
https://github.com/Smithsonian/SuperNOVAS
And, you can find more information on the library (including API documentation) on the SuperNOVAS pages at:
https://smithsonian.github.io/SuperNOVAS/
The library is published with no licensing restrictions (i.e. under the 'Unlicense').
I would like to package the library for RPMFusion. Since this will be my first contribution, I will be needing a sponsor, as well as help and advice on packaging the library.
I look forward to the journey.
Thanks for the help in advance.
