Hi all!
We all owe Jeremy another beer now, as we fixed this bug two days ago:

That means: You can enable RPM Fusion in Anaconda during installation of
Fedora 10 with anaconda and everything will "Just Work" (TM).
I updated (read: reworked and renamed) the page in the wiki that
describes how to use RPM Fusion during Install:

Please check and improve the page where you think it needs improving.
Note that I simply dropped all pre-F10 notes as it never worked properly
due to bugs in anaconda (and F10 will be what most people are interested
in soon anyway).
The page also could benefit from some screenshots. I didn't do them yet
as I still hope we can set up what was discussed one or two weeks ago: a
redirect rule on the mirrormanager servers that redirects URLs like
http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/free/fedora/10/i386/
to
http://mirrors.rpmfusion.org/mirrorlist?repo=free-fedora-10&arch=i386
as the former IMHO is way easier to type and to remember. Adrian,
Oliver, would that we possible without to much work?

HEADS UP to all packagers: For this to work properly you must make sure
all the *binary* packages a user might want to (de)select in anaconda
are listed in one of groups in our comps.xml files.
So *pretty please*, please look at this URLs:

Are all the interesting binary rpms that get build from the packages you
maintain listed there? If not please consider to add them; the comps
directory can be found in the root of the free and nonfree directories
in CVS; they will get pushed to the repo with the next push.
Further: Please make sure that all the packages that a user will likely
want by default are listed as such in those groups where it makes sense.
Examples: Right now gnome-mplayer, gstreamer-plugins-ugly and
gstreamer-ffmpeg are marked as default for all users that have the GNOME
group selected (that is the default). People that disable GNOME and
enable KDE will get amarok-extras-freeworld and k3b-extras-freeworld by
default (do they also want the gstreamer stuff these days?).
/me wonders if xine-lib-extras-freeworld should be marked as default for
GNOME, KDE or in general as well

If you are unsure if, where or how your packages should get listed
please ask for advice on the list or on IRC.
And another note: Please also check the comps.xml for saneness. I

I also added "vice" to the games and entertainment group. I hope
Hans won't kill me for this...
Unsure about "lha" and "unace", shouldn't these be in the system
tools
as well?

Isn't "Sound and Video" a better group for these? I remember that all
the emulators were in a group of their own, now they are in the
standard "Games and Entertainment". Probably there was a reason to do

I was just about to write something like that (see also below). So I
took the chance remove the "sound emulators" group and added a "Sound
and Video" group.
Also note that the group definition was incomplete ;-) Groups that are
not defined in Fedora need a little bit more (see the bottom of Fedora's
comps.xml files for details). And defining a group just for two packages
IMHO is definitely not a good idea.
I remember that all
the emulators were in a group of their own, now they are in the
standard "Games and Entertainment". Probably there was a reason to do
it in this way.
There were mainly two reasons:
- we have no translators, hence all group that we define on our own will
show up as English in anaconda, yum, PackageKit, ...
- I feared that adding groups might create even more trouble to get the
anaconda support working
We can test the latter now that we know it works in general. But the
first point is still valid. I think it alone is a good enough reason to
try very hard *not* to add groups on our own.

That should do it. At least for the example you have given. Now Oliver
needs to also include it in his configuration.
I am, however, not sure if this is such a good idea. If we do it, we
should maybe also convince Fedora to do it. So that the mirrorlist
offers the same interface at Fedora and RPM Fusion.

Sure. I was just guessing which RewriteRule might be the correct one.

updates repo in addition to the release repos; is that easy to do as
well? And what about development/rawhide? IOW, these three afaics should
work (nobody hopefully will enable the updates-testing repos during
install):

No need to hurry. If it's to complicated that we just leave everything

Might be a good idea. But it's not that badly needed for Fedora, as
Fedora users normally don't have to type the URLs to enable the Fedora
repos, as they are hardcoded in anaconda. But for the updates repo it
might be a nice to have in Fedora as well.

All rewrites are working with and without trailing slash.
That is all on my mirrors.rpmfusion.org instance. I will send Oliver the
necessary rules so that it works on both mirrors.rpmfusion.org
instances.
