SPEC: http://6mata.com:8014/review/sp-auth.spec
SRPM: http://6mata.com:8014/review/sp-auth-3.0.1-1.fc10.src.rpm
Description:
SopCast is a simple, free way to broadcast video and audio or watch the video
and listen to radio on the Internet. Adopting P2P(Peer-to-Peer) technology, it
is very efficient and easy to use.
Why rpmfusion?
Upstream provides an i386 binary only.
rpmlint:
sp-auth.i386: W: invalid-license Freeware
sp-auth.i386: E: missing-PT_GNU_STACK-section /usr/bin/sp-sc-auth
sp-auth.src: W: invalid-license Freeware
I'm not sure if we can do anything about the E message above. Any opinions?
The downloads page of the upstream website [1] says:
All downloads (include SopPlayer and SopServer) and channel list can be
copied and distributed freely for anyone. Any portion of these may not be
sold, resold, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose that is not
expressly permitted by SopCast.
I also sent an email to them for double-checking. They replied:
Dear Orcan Ogetbil
Yes, you can include Sopcast Linux binary in RPMFusion repositories. The
software which you download from www.sopcast.com is freeware, and you can
use this letter as an official authorization for your distribution.
Best Regards

Scid can perform many different searches, such as for particular
players, a certain opening position, material searches, and pattern
searches such as isolated pawns. It is very fast, because it uses its
own efficient format, but it can convert games to and from PGN, the
standard format for chess game files.
Scid can use a chess engine such as Crafty to analyze games and also
has a "tree" mode where it automatically shows all moves played from
the current position, their opening codes, success rates, etc.
Scid package has some small part of nonfree code. It is Nalimov
tablebase decoding code. Nalimov tablebases may be very important in the
endgame
analysis.

Description:
Shorten is a fast, low complexity waveform coder (i.e. audio compressor),
originally written by Tony Robinson at SoftSound. It can operate in both lossy
and lossless modes.
Why not Fedora?: Package license contains limitations on commercial use.
rpmlint output:

I was unsure what to put for the license tag since it doesn't fit a "standard"
license.
This is my first rpmfusion package - although I have packages in Fedora proper.

[Bug 283] New: revel - Really easy video encoding library

Summary: revel - Really easy video encoding library
Product: Package Reviews

Spec URL: http://bernewireless.net/files/rpms/revel.spec
SRPM URL: http://bernewireless.net/files/rpms/revel-1.1.0-1.fc9.src.rpm
Project URL: http://revel.sourceforge.net/
Description:
Revel is a library designed to be the shortest, simplest path between
your application and high-quality well-compressed video output. Any
program that generates a series of successive images (e.g. video games,
3D graphics applications, media players, animation packages) can use Revel
to output a compressed AVI video, without having to know hardly anything
about the overwhelming esoterica of video encoding. Revel is implemented
in C++, but the public API is in plain old C for maximum compatibility.
Why not in Fedora?
Because xvidcore is not in Fedora.
rpmlint output:
[fab@laptop024 i386]$ rpmlint revel*

I'm not able to build a proper -debuginfo file because of that I added '%define
debug_package %{nil}' to suppress the rpmlint warning about this.
[fab@laptop024 SRPMS]$ rpmlint revel-1.1.0-1.fc9.src.rpm

[Bug 167] New: Review request: anyremote-J2ME-client - J2ME client for anyRemote
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla

OS/Version: GNU/Linux
Status: NEW

ReportedBy: anyremote(a)mail.ru
CC: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
Estimated Hours: 0.0
anyRemote is bluetooth remote control software.
anyremote-J2ME-client is J2ME client for anyRemote. This J2ME client should
be installed on JSR-82 capabled cell phone.
SRPM
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/anyremote/anyremote-J2ME-client-4.10-1.f...
Beware: Actually to build anyremote-J2ME-client it needs to install Sun WTK
and Proguard.
So, if possible i can specify SRPM and .spec for package which contains
prebuild
java midlet. This can simplify package build process by elimination of
Sun WTK-Proguard toolchain.
This package can not be included into Fedora because it uses for build Sun WTK
toolkit, which is free, but not open source.
This is my first RPM Fusion package (and i have 4 packages in Fedora repo).

SPEC: http://ynemoy.fedorapeople.org/repo.nonfree/freej.spec
FreeJ is a digital instrument for video livesets, featuring realtime
rendering of multilayered video and chained effect filtering directly
on the screen. It plays with video4linux devices, DIVX/AVI files, and
PNG images, letting you dynamically apply on each layer a chain of
effect plugins.
NOTE: This package is hard-coded to require an MMX capable processor.

4 packages and 1 specfiles checked; 4 errors, 3 warnings.
FreeJ has a built in javascript interpreter. rpmlint is not intelligent enough
to realize this. The rest is a silly warning.
This package depends on libffmpeg which is not available in Fedora.

Description: This package contains Tumbler's video thumbnailer based on
ffmpegthumbnailer.
This package cannot be in Fedora because it is based on ffmpeg(thumbnailer).
The rest of tumbler however is, so this package only contains a single plugin.
Hopefully more in the future.
As this package is based on a Fedora package, the review should be trivial.
