Spec URL:

SRPM URL:

Description:
Use this package to install the packages required to run vmware locally.
This package does not include the free vmware-server or vmware-server-console
package itself. They can be obtained from the vmware website.
Can't be in Fedora:
- it's a meta package
- it enables use of non fedora software
- the proper packaging should really be done by the upstream author.
- the upstream is not open source
- the upstream do not support the fedora distribution
- FESCO discussed it recently, and voted that helper packages for third party
apps shall be blocked from Fedora:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478007#c17
The original Fedora review request:

FESCO discussion should show up soon for 2009-01-30:

=====
So, do we want to allow helper packages like this in RPM Fusion ?
Note it does not Require: any packages external to Fedora/RPM Fusion, nor does
it attempt to download them.
Others have mentioned that other external no source apps might include skype
etc, that could receive similar RPM Fusion packaging assistance ?

* URLS to spec file and source rpm of BLCR package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=de0138956b52366aab1eab3e9fa335ca4bbcee...
* Description:
Berkeley Lab Checkpoint/Restart for Linux (BLCR)
This package implements system-level checkpointing of scientific applications
in a manner suitable for implementing preemption, migration and fault recovery
by a batch scheduler.
BLCR includes documented interfaces for a cooperating applications or
libraries to implement extensions to the checkpoint system, such as
consistent checkpointing of distributed MPI applications.
Using this package with an appropriate MPI implementation, the vast majority
of scientific applications which use MPI for communication on Linux clusters
are checkpointable without any modifications to the application source code.
* Why this package is not eligible to be included in Fedora:
This package contains BLCR kernel module so it can not be included in Fedora.
* The output rpmlint gives on both the source and binary packages.
- BLCR-kmod source package:
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.
- BLCR source package:

pointing, check-pointing, checkpoint
blcr.src: W: spelling-error %description -l en_US checkpointable -> checkpoint
able, checkpoint-able, checkpoint
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 2 warnings.
The first two messages are just spelling problems.

The 1st message: I think this is a bug of rpmlint
The 2nd & 3rd message: I don't know how to correct it ( but I don't think it is
serious)
The 4th message: There's no documentation for this module package
The 5th-7th errors: Due to fedora politics about modules.
- BLCR binary package

The first 2 messages: Spelling problems
The 3rd: I suppose that is due to the fact that BLCR is already installed on my
machine.
* It's my first RPM fusion package
* Also, I'm seeking for a sponsor :) (I'm not sponsored packager in fedora)

[Bug 171] New: Review Request: rpmfusion-config-display - tool to manage proprietary graphic drivers
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla
http://bugzilla.rpmfusion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171
Summary: Review Request: rpmfusion-config-display - tool to
manage proprietary graphic drivers
Product: Package Reviews

Platform: All
OS/Version: GNU/Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: Review Request
AssignedTo: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
ReportedBy: s.adam(a)diffingo.com
CC: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
Blocks: 75
Estimated Hours: 0.0
SPEC:
http://downloads.diffingo.com/rpmfusion-config-display/rpmfusion-config-d...
SRPM:
http://downloads.diffingo.com/rpmfusion-config-display/rpmfusion-config-d...
Description:
rpmfusion-config-display is a graphical and command-line tool to manage the
various display drivers offered at the RPM Fusion repository. It configures the
X server configuration dynamically, allowing for autoselection of an
appropriate driver based on the installed hardware or manual override by the
user.
rpmlint output:
rpmfusion-config-display.noarch: W: service-default-enabled
/etc/rc.d/init.d/rpmfusion-config-display
rpmfusion-config-display.noarch: W: service-default-enabled
/etc/rc.d/init.d/rpmfusion-config-display
rpmfusion-config-display.noarch: E: subsys-not-used
/etc/rc.d/init.d/rpmfusion-config-display
These can be ignored since the we don't need a subsys, and the service should
be enabled by default.
Upgrade plan: Once rpmfusion-config-display has been implemented, it will
obsolete livna-config-display and allow for the parallel installation of
multiple drivers as well. The README.developers file contains information how
to create the a driver config file which enables rpmfusion-config-display to
configure the user's system for that driver.
