In either case, I'm going to put this off for a while. I've tried to make contact with someone who forked zfsonlinux and added some systemd generators and such, stuff WAY beyond me. We could still install the -devel if needed but at least it "may" solve the dependency problem while trying to rebuild with akmod-zfs. Even if a later unrelated components appear to be using the solaris portability layer it could still be bundled into the same package. So either keep spl-kmod or zfs-kmod.
