[Bug 5937] New: Review Request: welle-io - Receiver for DAB and DAB+
broadcast radio
by RPM Fusion Bugzilla

Bug ID: 5937
Summary: Review Request: welle-io - Receiver for DAB and DAB+
broadcast radio
Product: Package Reviews
Version: Current
Hardware: x86_64
OS: GNU/Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P1
Component: Review Request
Assignee: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
Reporter: marcus_rpmfusion(a)hostalia.de
CC: rpmfusion-package-review(a)rpmfusion.org
namespace: free
Spec:
https://pagure.io/fork/marcusmueller/fedora-welle-io/blob/master/f/welle-...
SRPM:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/marcusmueller/Welle.io/build/2024...
Description: Receive digital audio broadcasts with your computer: welle.io is
an open source DAB and DAB+ software defined radio (SDR) with direct support
for RTL-SDR and other SDR hardware through SoapySDR. It supports high DPI and
touch displays and it runs even on cheap computers.
This package is not eligible for inclusion in fedora, as it depends on faad2
(like the other DAB receiver software, gr-dab, that was reviewed for inclusion
in rpmfusion).
rpmlint srpm: 1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.
rpmlint rpm:
W: no-manual-page-for-binary welle-cli
W: no-manual-page-for-binary welle-io
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 2 warnings.
Explanation for ignored warnings: no upstream manpages, welle-io is a GUI
executable, and welle-cli a somewhat self-documenting HTTP serving frontend
This is my first rpmfusion package. I'm co-maint on fedora's verilator, and
have a package in the fedora review pipeline (signify).

Thanks for forwarding the patches into branches.
Btw I've asked if one could build a perl dependency missing for el8
and mythtv-backend.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1977273
With that dependency, all mythtv packages should be installable in EL8...

Re: [mythtv] Update to latest fixes/31 Don't require lame binary on
el8
by Andrew Bauer
Yeah, I looked into this recently.
Lame was previously requested for EPEL8:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1760961
The bug closed because it is already part of rhel8:
https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/20776
Of course, this is only partially true. Lame-libs and lame-devel are part of rhel8, but the binary package is not.
I'm tempted to file a bug with redhat and make a stink about this, but I doubt it would make a difference.
In the end, I'll trust what Nicolas says is true, that mythtv doesn't need the binary package anyway.
Thanks,
Andy

No we can't (at least not easily). As the lame package is in RHEL but
only the libs- and (devel) are distributed.
So we can't have it in EPEL easily.
Also having a lame binary is totally spurious.
As I've written in the commit message, mythtv only uses the lame
"libraries" and not the binary.
We could still enforce the binary in fedora for more certainty,
specially with plugins expectation. But there is no need to enforce
when it's not needed.
Thanks

[Bug 5473] New: Review Request: zerotier-one - Smart Ethernet Switch

by RPM Fusion Bugzilla

Previous attempt in here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1768452
This is useful app and IMHO nice to have it rpm fusion repos.
This is my first rpm fusion package.
Reason why not in Fedora repos: BSL license

Description:
ZeroTier is a smart programmable Ethernet switch for planet Earth. It allows
all
networked devices, VMs, containers, and applications to communicate as if they
all reside in the same physical data center or cloud region.
This is accomplished by combining a cryptographically addressed and secure peer
to peer network (termed VL1) with an Ethernet emulation layer somewhat similar
to VXLAN (termed VL2). Our VL2 Ethernet virtualization layer includes advanced
enterprise SDN features like fine grained access control rules for network
micro-segmentation and security monitoring.
All ZeroTier traffic is encrypted end-to-end using secret keys that only you
control. Most traffic flows peer to peer, though we offer free (but slow)
relaying for users who cannot establish peer to peer connections.
The goals and design principles of ZeroTier are inspired by among other things
the original Google BeyondCorp paper and the Jericho Forum with its notion of
"deperimeterization."
