That's XvidConfigDialog having the exact same selectConfiguration issue as
the other file, it can be fixed the exact same way. (The broken
selectConfiguration function looks exactly the same in both files.)
I'll take a look but I may still need a little more hand holding on this one.

Nonsense. It's actually too new for Avidemux 2.5.4 (which is a 5 months old
release). If the upstream developer had even looked at their own patch, he'd
have easily realized this. In fact, that "Gentoo" patch comes from
upstream's SVN repository and adds support for current versions of xvidcore.

That's the version in the F14 repo, which is old enough for Avidemux 2.5.4
to build without patching. In the F15/Rawhide repo, there's a 20110227
snapshot which requires the Avidemux backport.
Yup, I had a brain fart. I just checked the version of my F14 system
without thinking of enabling rawhide/devel repos.
