Mmh, ok, I think there's come confusion here, sorry if I obfuscated it more.
Just to clarify: my comment was that akmods is not really needed in RHEL but
the best approach is the binary kmods one, where there is no rebuild needed
compared to Fedora (like in ELRepo packages).
On top of this I was saying that I could contribute to the Nvidia drivers for
all branches, especially to bring them also to the RHEL branches.
The only case where I could see some use for akmods in RHEL is when you replace
RHEL's kernel with an entirely new one (like 3.10 or 3.11); but that's a corner
case... said this, if you think that shipping the akmods package to the RHEL
branch is a good idea I can take it.
Thoughts?
