SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Quick fix would be to drop the brackets and change it to
class PeriodicJob:
till I can examine this on EL5 and/or Python 2.4. It's likely
related to the change to classic classes in Python 2.5.
P.S. Apparently, no EPEL user has tested the package.
