But if you use USE_EXT_ASL=1 the internal copy of ASL is not used and is not built. A note about building bombono with external ASL: the patch http://gitorious.org/bombono-dvd/bombono-dvd/blobs/master/libs/asl/no_con... is needed to build it successfully. I know, ASL is not developed that actively now so I don't communicate with upstream.
