I remember a review request that used a binary diff to add whatever
was not allowed in Fedora, and although it seems a rather messy way to
do things, I'd be willing to maintain it if there were sufficient
interest.

Someone asked for this on fedoras audio list the other day.
It uses libmad not lame by the looks.
