That file is not the same as the one I referenced in my spec file. Mine for
example already contains the "configure" script and can be built without
needing any bootstrapping process (i.e. autoconf/automake) - this is required
with the file you referenced (which is just an export of the git tag).
There is a strong preference to using caonical upstream for tarballs unless
modification is necessary. I know it's a little slower but is running autoconf
really that big of a deal?
Another option is to use the cmake build, although it appears to lack install
targets but with the amount of post install modification you're already doing
it might actually be cleaner.
