I really don't understand this whole deal. I have been using LCD
for quite a
while and I never found the Fedora fonts ugly at all. I don't think I did
anything special to font rendering other than installing standard Fedora
packages.
My fonts are just as beautiful as the ones that are in your screenshots.
But I use KDE, not Gnome. Does KDE handle things differently?
Yes, KDE is based on qt , which has its own rendering, and does not depends on
cairo as GTK apps.
Of course you are used to them for many years, please try the packages and tell
me about the difference ...
