Then why not add proper "ExcludeArch: ppc ppc64" to the package?
The wl-kmod package uses ExclusiveArch... AFAIR this is due to the way
kmods are built.
The broadcom-wl package already uses ExcludeArch exactly as you suggest
(and always has done).
