Hi,
I've updated the RHEL 8 GA repository, so it is possible to build
against current RHEL8 (x86_64,ppc64le,aarch64).
Due to the nature of the distro, refresh of the repository will be
done on a weekly basis. If you know any of your packages relies on a
more recent fix, please report an issue.
The i386 "multilibs" target isn't available yet, because it relies on
having (at least) a dedicated i386 gcc/gcc-c++. This will not be
provided by RHEL repos and is provided by CentOS for 7 as part of a
full i386 rebuild of the distro. As CentOS 7 isn't available yet, it
would be possible for someone to build a i386 gcc that will be
available on override, if someone can take this task, it will be
helpfull.
Because EPEL8 isn't there yet, it's possible that many missing
dependencies will prevent your package to build. Please try to do a
scratch build to verify which dependency is present or not.
There is probably some infra side improvements that we will benefit
from EPEL when it will have some basic support.
Also if you package doesn't have a el8 branch yet, please request one in pkgdb:
https://admin.rpmfusion.org/pkgdb/
Happy RHEL8 packaging.
Thx
