Description:
cAudio is a 3D audio engine based on OpenAL. This package contains
the MP3 decoder plugin for cAudio, which is based on code from ffmpeg.
FAS Account Name: tc01
Notes:
This is suitable for the free namespace; cAudio is FOSS. This cannot be in
Fedora because it uses code from ffmpeg and supports MP3 files.
I'm the maintainer of cAudio in Fedora. The spec is the spec from Fedora,
modified to build the MP3 decoder plugin and to remove the actual libcAudio
that is compiled (since that's provided by the cAudio package). The plugin and
main library are not linked against each other, but instead, the plugin file
gets loaded by a plugin manager inside cAudio. Thus it should be possible to
split up cAudio and the MP3 plugin in this way.
"cAudio" is the upstream preferred name of the project (with the capital
letter), unfortunately.
Note that, as is stated in the spec, the patch to version the .so names of the
plugin files was accepted upstream (see
https://github.com/R4stl1n/cAudio/pull/45) but hasn't yet landed in an official
release. Thus as per standard Fedora patch policy it should be acceptable to
include here.
rpmlint output: all of this is relatively sane.
