Hi, With the current work to update ffmpeg to 3.x in el7 I expect that new application could be enabled on el7. Because some might requires an even newer compiler than the base one, please remind that the devtoolset scl is available. You can use a gcc 7 without much effort using that. (have a look at the chromium or vlc package for a sample).
