Desc:
ffmpeg-php is an extension for PHP that adds an easy to use,

Not elligible in fedora repos, because it needs ffmpeg.

What rpaths are present in vanilla build?
Could they be avoided by patching the build process instead?

-Done but with a question:
Should I hardcode the revision number and the date into the script?
I'm working on this revision (at this time is the last) but I can't be sure
that future revision will works in the same way

I made a better patch for the conf.m4 file
Fyi, I removed the unnecessary requirement of ffmpeg

Ypu will probably not need to hardcode them. I recommend you checking the
ffmpeg, snowballz and kplayer packages. They produce the date and revision
numbers with shell commands and from the source files. I'm sure you can figure
out a way to do something similar.

Generating dates is not that great an idea, it's bad for reproducibility.
And FWIW, the comments mentioned in comment #1 are a perfectly fine way to
document how to check out the source from SVN, there's absolutely no need to
put this into a .sh script.

oops. I didn't realize it was SVN. For SVN snapshots, I prefer using the SVN
revision number that can be acquired by running "svnversion" on the base
directory of the downloaded snapshot, rather than the date. But this is a
matter of convention.
As for an .sh script, yes, there is no need. But not "absolutely no need". It
certainly helps some reviewers and some packagers. At the very least, they make
my life easier :)
