Hi, I didn't have any luck following updated procedure:

Basically:
1. doesn't seem to like a mirrorlist when it appears to be entered
correctly actually is picked up properly by anaconda
2. if using just the path to the repo (ie folder containing repodata
folder), anaconda (accepts the selection), but then doesn't show any
rpmfusion packages in the GUI {customize now}.
I asked on #fedora-qa, where I was told:
sunset06: another way: During install, with an additional repo defined,
and then customize now...
(23:29:43) sunset06: how / where should user get access to select
packages from that repo ?
(23:34:52) jlaska: sunset06: package selection from manually entered yum
repositories is only available if the repository provides a comps.xml file
(23:35:42) jlaska: the comps file tells anaconda how the packages map
into the UI I believe (and what should be mandatory||optional||hidden
etc...)
So:
- do we have a comps file ?
- is it in the correct place ?
- it is pretty random to try and find rpmfusion specific packages
amongst the zillion other fedora packages. It could be good to have a
comps group something like: Additional Software Repositories, where any
additional repos '-release' package would appear.
What do you think ?

Did you switch to TTY3 or TTY4 to get an idea what might be wrong?

But note, the better question would have been: Does out comps.xml have
the right format? But I think it has, as it works just fine with
stand-alone pirut (if one complies and runs the F8 version on rawhide)

comps group something like: Additional Software Repositories, where any
additional repos '-release' package would appear.

- Users should not care where a package comes from, hence groups like

just select groups like "Gnome" or "KDE" and get the important things
for those environments. That's how our current comps.xml is designed; as
it seems to work well with the stand-alone pirut I'd right now tend to
say the bug is in anaconda
- the user should not care of the '-release' packages; they should get
installed by default if a repo is configured. But seems that doesn't work
I tend to say it's the same (or a similar) bug in anaconda that is
responsible for both problems.

Attached are screenshots how it works in pirut (the one from cvs for
F-8) running on rawhide right now:
- I select KDE in the main screen (see pirut.jpg); k3b-extras-freeworld
from RPM Fusion free automatically got selected (see kde-packages.jpg),
as it marked as 'type="default"' in our comps.xml
It ideally and IMHO should work similarly in anaconda.

vmware guest - don't know how to show the guest ttyS; i get
the hosts ones instead. Anyone know how to view the guests ttyS ?

- eg under
Applications/Sound and Video, and under a repo specific group like
rpmfusion free or non-free ?
I think that being in multiple groups is possible ?

could someone expect to find the rpmfusion-free or nonfree
-release packages. IIRC if you don't select them during install, then
the yum definitions will not get installed, and you wont be prompted
when updates are released, or would you be able to select rpmfusion
packages from add/remove software. But I definitely didn't find them any
where within the anaconda groups structure after configuring to add
rpmfusion repos.

No idea. Note, I try to test the stuff right now as well, but for some
stupid reason the installation in a KVM guest fails with the last
package (the kernel) anaconda tries to install

plan to open a bug in bugzilla.redhat.com when I had a chance to look

Yeah, it is. But I tend to say it might confuse people more then it

Nowhere -- they should automatically get selected if you enable RPM
Fusion (if you enable RPM Fusion during install then you in 99,999% of
the cases want it in the installed system as well). The packages hence
are part of the "Core" group and marked as 'packagereq
type="mandatory"':

Anaconda (as far as I understand things) should install everything from
that (hidden) group automatically.

getting installed twice, so that could be your issue ?

That seems to indicate that the group would include the "(RPM Fusion
Free)" text, and be different to the Fedora group, which contradicts
what you said earlier about the group being undifferentiated from Fedora.

F-9 host, Preview in KVM.

That was a workaround that was used in F-8 and F-9 -- but the plan was
to get rid of that workaround for rawhide and get the real soltuion in
place, hence the comps.xml for rawhide looks quite different.

I grabbed the
manual for vmware and found the secret key combinations:
ctrl-alt-space, release space, press the third key eg F1 to get tty1
btw: Out of state for a few days, so probably won;t be able to further
test this stuff for a week or so.
